Skip this, grab that
Real products worth skipping at Aldi, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods — and the cleaner swap sitting on the same shelf. Pick your store.
How to read this: "skip" doesn't mean "poison" — it means there's a cleaner version right there for the same job. A couple of these (seed oils especially) are debated, not settled, and I flag those. Read the live label before you trust me — brands reformulate. Not medical advice.

How I put this together. Every ingredient concern below is sourced (tap the link on each card). Where the science is contested — seed oils, carrageenan, erythritol — I say "linked to" or "debated," never "causes." "Uncured" meats are cured with celery powder, which still makes nitrite, so I say
no added nitrite, not "nitrite-free." Product availability and formulas change by store and over time — confirm the panel in your hand. I'm a dad who reads too much, not your doctor. Product photos via
